Active Interchiller specializes in producing "Intercooler Chiller Systems" that leverage your vehicle's existing air conditioning system to drastically cool the water used in a water-to-air intercooler, achieving temperatures as low as 32°F, significantly lowering intake temperatures and maximizing horsepower by eliminating heat from your boosted car or truck; with a wide range of kits, many "Plug 'N Play," and over 15 years of experience in the market, we offer a solution to combat heat-induced power loss in boosted vehicles.

In 2009, Active Interchiller introduced a groundbreaking innovation to the chiller market by creating Competition Mode (also known as Track/Race Mode). This mode allowed for the dedicated cooling of engine intake air temperature (IAT), a crucial factor for optimizing engine performance, without causing condensation issues typically associated with air conditioning systems. By blocking the refrigerant flow to the cabin evaporator, Competition Mode enabled racers to use chillers on the track, where previously, such systems were impractical due to the risk of condensation leaks. Switching back to Street Mode allows drivers to enjoy the benefits of an ice-cold cabin while still maintaining significantly lower IATs, enhancing the overall driving experience on both the track and the road. This dual functionality made Active Interchiller's system versatile and appealing for both racing and everyday use.

Other startups and competitors in the market have since adopted this Competition Mode feature to enhance the appeal of their products, recognizing its importance in high-performance racing environments where intake air temperature control is a critical factor in engine efficiency and power output.

Also in 2009, Active Interchiller developed the "Active Heat Exchanger Bypass," which automatically bypasses your HX by monitoring your intercooler fluid temperature. This eliminates the heat introduced by the HX but allows you to turn off your AC and still drive using your HX in winter or as a safety backup. Another advantage is that this switching is real-time; during a long pull after the compressor turns off, the HX will return if the intercooler coolant reaches 80°F.

What sets Active Interchiller apart from the other intercooler chillers on the market?

1. We have vocational training and over 40 years of experience in automotive AC and over 15 years of experience in intercooler chillers, creating many of the breakthrough innovations that others try and copy but make rookie mistakes. For example, not understanding why chiller suction returns too close to the TXV block reduces cabin AC performance.

 2. With the original competition valve and digital controller, you can easily remote start your vehicle without worrying about the switch’s position.

 3. Our Plug-and-play wiring harness makes installation easy, there is no need to splice into your factory wiring. Temperature display with most kits.

 4. We provide enough wiring in the power supply harness to mount the switch and temperature display anywhere you want inside the driver’s compartment. 

 5. Our original 3-way bypass for the intercooler coolant system allows you to retain your factory heat exchanger and utilize it automatically with our digital controller temperature display.

Do you have an upgrade for my factory Power Chiller?

Yes, we have a direct-fit Xtreme Chiller that works anytime your AC is on and it includes the Active HX Bypass.

Do I need a larger intercooler reservoir to use your system?

Insulating the cold AC lines will help, but you don't really need an additional auxiliary tank. Increasing capacity from 1 to 2.5 gallons is ideal, going over 3 gallons can become counterintuitive to cooling efficiency.

My AC doesn't work in low ambient temperatures?

You will need the Active HX Bypass upgrade or in some cases a manual relay switch will activate the compressor.

Do I need Stage 2?

Our goal is to keep installation easier and more straightforward for our dealers and DIYers and our Xtreme Chiller is efficient enough on the street/track setup. However, for those all-out efforts and extreme ambient temperatures, such as in Arizona, stage 2 will dissipate more heat and lower IAT.
